Our main theme is on NATURE, the SAGA (history/culture) and the MYSTIQUE beneath the GLACIER which has been shrouded with mystery since Bardur Snaefellsas settled here in the 10th century. The Glacier is by many considered to be one of the seven major energy centres of the Earth and two powerful ley-lines run through the land to the east and west of Hellnar.Our Sagas are full of mystique and Tolkien read the Icelandic Eddas for inspiration for his novel LORD OF THE RINGS and many of the dwarfnames come directly from the Eddas.
A hiking tour of Hellnar with a local guide. Tour runs through caves, ley-lines and dwellings of hidden beings where old and new “sagas” are woven into the powerful and spectacluar landscape. A hiking tour along the old Nedsta-gata trail between Hellnar and Arnarstapi, along a magnificent coastline which is a nature preserve. The “saga” is woven into a journey through ley-lines and dwellings of hidden beings, past magnificent Gatklettur and the Pumps all the way to the harbour at Arnarstapi. Group is picked up by a mini-bus at journey’s end and driven back to Guesthouse Brekkubaer. Minimum 3 persons – maximum 30 persons. Duration: About 2 ½ - 3 hours. A DAY TOUR OF SNAEFELLSJOKULL NATIONAL PARK every day of the week by appointment – departure from Brekkubaer at Hellnar. Guests can be picked up at nearby Guesthouses. Minimum 4 – maximum 9 persons.
