Ragnar Th. Sigurdsson specialises in photography of nature and travel in the Arctic, including Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and the Northwest Territories, Nunavut of Canada.
He reached the North Pole in 1995. Among his motives in an archive of 200,000 photos are geological formations in Iceland, volcanoes, geothermal activity, waterfalls and glaciers, wildlife and the flora.

Equipment
Ragnar Th. Sigurdsson uses a variety of equipment ranging from Contax 35mm cameras to Fuji 6x17, Noblex Pro and 4x5" big format cameras. The largest part of his collection is done on medium format cameras, Mamya 6 and Mamya 7 and FUJI 619. ARCTIC IMAGES uses an advanced computer system, and Phase One professional digital camera back including the latest G-4 Macintosh computers, along with CREO Ever Smart Supreme scanner. We are connected to the ISP with 2mb connection.
Ragnar uses a specially modified super truck (a Toyota Land Cruiser with 44" tires), used i.a. for covering large distances on snow and ice. ARCTIC IMAGES have recently got a new truck. It is a model 2000, Toyota 70, modified by ARCTIC TRUCKS in Iceland. It has 44 inch tires and is specially modified for glacier and snow driving.

Assignments
Ragnar Th. Siguršsson and Ari Trausti Gudmundsson ( b. 1948 ) who is a free-lance writer, TV-producer and geophysicist (educated in Norway and Iceland) accept assignments involving photography and writing on subjects like volcanism, geothermal activity and utilisation, geologial or glaciological phenomena plus wilderness travel in the Arctic.
